Julius Caesar is a myth - George Eybers

Old king Julius was one big lie... a legend... a myth. Naw, ask anyone who has heard about Julius Caesar, whether he really existed and they will without any doubt affirm that he was not legend nor  a lie but a real flesh and blood human being who once ruled the greatest empire in the ancient world. Do they ever doubt that he was once alive? Never.  Yet there is very little evidence to prove his existence.

For example: The earliest manuscript referring to Julius Caesar's “Gallic Wars”, which was the account of him conquering France as we know it today, is dated about 900 years after it took place. Yet scholars, historians and archeologists believe the account according to this manuscript to be true.

Ever played the game “broken telephone” ? It's a game where children sit in a circle and whisper a sentence or phrase, having to transmit the same phrase to the person next to them. Some of those outcomes... hilarious. Similarly, I would be a little concerned with a 900 year pause- that means the message was verbally passed on for roughly nine generations before written down.

Why has no one dedicated their lives to proving that the story about our dear old friend Julius is perhaps false and some figment of a someone's imagination? Why has no-one questioned the reliability of a 900- year- later manuscript?

Yet, many question the Word of God. “Can it be trusted?” “How accurate is the Word really?” Many Caesarites (my word for believers of secular history such as the life of Julius Caesar yet denying the authenticity of the Bible) will violently oppose the Word of God.

But with the bible (specially the New Testament), there are 1000's of manuscripts dating as far back as the end of the first century...only decades after the originals, such as Paul's letters to the churches. What makes it even more fascinating is that some of the original authors were still alive when the letters were copied from the original manuscripts.

You don't have to be a statistician to realize the odds in both instances in terms of accuracy.

Julius Caesar could be fiction... God's Word is fact!
