    To everyone who helped organise the Betrothed Women’s Conference – thanks so much!

    I laughed so much that by Saturday night even my cheekbones were aching. And when I reflect on the weekend, I realise that in between the fun, meaty words were shared that I still need to chew on and digest till they become my own.

    One thing I’d like to comment on though – the whole idea that God made man and said “It was good”, and then He created woman and said “It was VERY good”. I think Tony sells men short when he describes them as ‘brain-damaged’. Sure, they are wired differently to us and we probably will never understand them, but God created them that way for His purpose (the same could be said for us women). As the creation story unfolds, we see that every day God was pleased with what He had made. Then on the sixth day He looked at everything He had made and said “It was VERY good” (v31). So the way I see it, both men and women fall into the “VERY good” category, since both were made in the image of God! 

    Maybe I’m just being technical, but imagine what happens when God takes an amazing man and links him up with an awesome woman. We were privileged to see such a team in action, and I went home to take stock of my own marriage. My prayer is that God will use us as a team to make a difference in His Kingdom just like He’s using Tony and Kath. I guess we just have to say “Yes” to God and allow Him to continue the work on this canvas on which He is painting a masterpiece.
