    Poem "YOU"

    You

you're the freshness of summer rain in the air
the wind at the coast that blows through my hair

you're the loudness of thunder in African storms
the hand of a master craftsman that forms

you're the painter of sunsets and clouds in the sky
the reward I will get the day that I die

you're the care of a mother, the touch of a wife
the only truth to the meaning of life

you're the hug of a friend
and that which remains when I've come to my end

you're the life in the birth of a child
the roar of an ancient warrior wild

you're the freedom I feel when I go for a run
the warmth of the late afternoon sun

you're the aroma of a fresh coffee bean
the one on whom I always can lean

you're the reason the songs are in me
the one who from sin set me free

you're everything I fail to express
giver of feelings I cannot suppress

you're the grace I depend on to live
the fullness of joy this world cannot give

you are the God who sits on the throne
only in your kingdom do I feel I am home
