Peace in making decisions

Below is a portion taken out of RT Kendall's Book " Did you think to pray ? "
" .... Below is an acrostic that i have shared with many people around the world to help them know the will of God. If you are wanting to do something, to feel 'led' to do this or that - or are praying about a matter and you want to be sure you are proceeding in God's will - ask :
P - Is it providential ? Does the door open without you knocking it down?
E - What do you suppose your enemy (the devil) would want? Do the opposite.
A - What is your authority (the Bible) for continuing? Is it biblical ?
C - Does your confidence increase or diminish at the thought of this?
E - Do you have ease in your heart of hearts at the thought of this ?
In short, make sure you do things that make for PEACE (Romans 14v19). You need five out of five of the above propositions for this acrostic to work for you. One out of five, even four out of five, won't do. But if it is providential, if you have a pretty shrewd idea what the devil would want (and make sure you do the opposite) , if it is clearly not against Scripture but in accordance with it, if your confidence increases and you have inner ease, you are probably on safe ground. Shakespeare put it well , "To thine own self be true"... "
