    Homegroup Getaway

Late last year our homegroup decided to take a break together, definitely not as a ‘kamp staaldraad for adults’, but a time of leisure where we could get to know and enjoy one another more... We decided to go midweek because weekends are normally so crowded with family events and worship on a Sunday, and because we could! So, late in November we jumped at the opportunity of three, very reasonably-priced, timeshare units at Mabula Game Lodge, just an hour or so north of Pretoria.

We enjoyed some exciting game drives together, where most of us saw four of the Big 5 (lions excluded, as they are kept in a separate camp); tackled the walking trails as unfit as we were and overdid the most strenuous of exercise – lazing next to the pool to ‘work’ on our tans.

By the end of the four days we had succeeded in our main aim – the coming together for casual fellowship, eating and drinking. The facilities were excellent, the employees were more than friendly and most of us agreed that if this opportunity arose again we would take it!”

Our homegroup is slightly different to most at 3Ci in that we meet on Tuesday mornings. Yep, that’s right, Tuesday mornings at 9.30am. We welcome anyone who can come around at that time, including students, the lonely, the unemployed, the handicapped, the zealous, the retired, the hungry...

We meet in Premier Avenue, Waterkloof, so if you’d like to visit please give us a call (our details are on the Homegroup list available on the 3Ci website, or from the church office).

Much love, Leon and Lorna Vermeulen
