Die winde van herlewing waai
Om die nasies na U te draai
Klein en groot word deur U bekoor
Want u het hul gebed verhoor
Herleef! Herleef! My siel wil leef!
Op ‘n houtkruis het u gesterf
Sodat ons die lewe kan erf
Vir al ons sondes het u betaal
Met u bloed wat nooit nie kon faal
Herleef! Herleef! My siel sal leef!
Uit die dood het U opgestaan
Loof en verhef u heilige naam
Aan u regterhand sit ons nou
In Christus te leef en vertrou
Herleef! Herleef! My siel moet leef!
Stuur nou vir my liewe Heer
Om uit te roep! ‘Laat jou bekeer!
Draai jou rug op al jou sonde,
Daar’s genesing in Jesus’ wonde!
Herleef! Herleef! Jou siel sal leef!
U winde van herlewing waai
En die nasies het omgedraai.
Ons het van U liefde gehoor
En loof U in die hemelse koor.
Herleef! Herleef! Ja ons lewe!
Leon Vermeulun

It was that time of the year again where a group of young men built up the courage and determination to experience, endure, and ultimately be transformed at a camp that has become a highlight on the calendar of nearly every 3ci high school boy. It was time for Kamp Staaldraad 3! This year the famous, as well as the infamous camp, took place yet again at the Maretlwane Lodge in the Magaliesburg Mountains. The word ‘lodge’ might sound most appealing and luxurious, which is the experience some most certainly had. Unfortunately those that experienced luxury were not us, the boys...

5 bakkies and 33 boys. Everyone, excited, arrived at the church. After the drive the excitement dulled as we were told we had a 6 km hike ahead of us. Some were even less excited as they didn’t have backpacks, and one had a pink bag. After an hour we arrived at the camp site and needed to set up our sleeping arrangements… and put together army tents. Assembling these tents turned into quite the mission while taking instructions from the leaders who thought they knew more (they did). PT was next and this year the group was really strong, so this made the first PT session one of the best we’ve had.

I recently got back from a wonderful two-week trip to South Africa. Excellent to see all the family, friends, and to consume as many cappuccinos as possible to prepare for a “cappuccino-less” Madagascar. I watched plenty of rugby, drank a fair amount of red wine and stocked up on essentials like light bulbs and non-Chinese hardware. Some of you told me you enjoyed reading about my life in Mada, so I thought I’d try to write something every day for a couple of weeks and then pass that on to you.

Two Pathways As I was praying about the next season I felt strongly that what is coming is not a new season, but a whole new era. A time which is more significant than any other time on earth in terms of the church being shaken into the purposes of God. Seasons will merge as we move forward, just as the seasons on earth are being mixed up and weather patterns are surprising forecasters, so the church will begin to be unsettled as the winds of change begin to blow on all that is ‘known’.

Expository Commentaries (bringing out the message of the book) as well as Exegetical Commentaries (trying to tell you what they mean – scholarly/technical level – basic interpretation).

It's taken me this long to get over the defeat to Uraguay & France then went on to do us no favours by losing 2-0 to Mexico.

I was exercising, running on the treadmill, looking through the window. I saw a tree without any leaves, so familiar, it’s bare, standing as the cold winter wind blows against it…. my soul relates to this picture, but Hope speaks: “it will have leaves again, it is rooted deep. Seasons change.”
