Is. 12:1 You* will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O LORD,
for though you were angry with me,
your anger turned away,
that you might comfort me.
Is. 12:2 “Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the LORDGOD* is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation.”
Is. 12:3 With joy you* will draw water from the wells of salvation.

Hearts on Fire:
Exod 2:11-15; 3:1-22
The oil within causes the fire upon.
It’s not what the church can do for you, but what you can do for the Kingdom. Jesus said, "the Kingdom of God is at hand". It is a declaration of another kingdom which supercedes any upon earth. History is primarily a study of what man has accomplished. So often believers look at the world through the perceptions of the church, and not from the heart of God in heaven.

So, life is busy. It is eclesiastically-correct to confess that you have regular Quiet Times. It is actually quite hard in such a techno-noisy world. Really. Truly. History is in compression for the advanced world. There is money to be made, bills to be paid, goals to be achieved, visions to be reached, ambitions to be serviced. A little legalism makes us feel bad, but then we find a free Saturday morning, or a late night read, or a good prayer session in the shower, and we pick ourselves up ...

Money is our crack cocaine,
Our bigger barn and build-a-brain.
Dollars are a flowing stream
That soothe our days with custard cream.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.”
(Matt 23:25-26 NIV)

Reading that you can easily say; “Dhuh, everyone knows that!” but there is more to that statement than meets the eye. As Christians we can live very dysfunctional lives. The Bible calls us to be fruitful in our relationship with Jesus, in our union and communion with our Lord and Savior. The temptation is there to focus on fruitfulness rather than Jesus. In John 15 Jesus deals with this issue by explaining it in a parable. The parable talks of the True Vine, the branches and the Gardener.

During the week I had the privilege to a spectator at a church forum that discussed the issue of marriage vs. living together. They had speakers that came from very diverse backgrounds and everyone stated their own opinion with passion and conviction. Some of the speakers were:
* Pastors of local churches;
* A psychiatrist;
* A black lady who had a child out of wedlock;
* A single lady who stars in a popular TV soapy;
* A financial advisor;
* And a journalist to ...

Today we have so many different vehicles to help us define our relationships. Science, technology and the likes are rapidly advancing towards greater and greater heights. Adam and Eve had very little to keep them busy, maybe giving names to all the animals and the eating from the fruit of this tree and that tree, but very little else.

urrently, we're working at Mattias Heimlicher's studio in Switzerland. Matthys worked here a couple of times. We flew our Sunday night before last with a hard drive Fuzz gave us with all the recorded material on it. ( I think it is unfortunate that 'fuzz' ryhms with 'buzz', given the fact that he's such a good recording engineer.) He had a massive task.

I’ve been quiet in 2010 and, with this article, I’d like to tell you why. Over the last four years, more has happened in my life than the decade before. I’m sure you feel the same. I’d like to mention that God used death and difficulty to germinate seeds of life and overcoming.
It changed me. Most of this document is a repentance, or confession or a change of mind. It’s the stuff of a merciful God.

The Ruttens are alive and well on Planet Canada! The early
morning jet lag sucks, but we're slowly getting better at that. I
think we made it to about 5 am this morning, so that's 'normal' time
for us, when Matthew was in school.
We are watching, listening, observing...learning what makes these
Canadians tick! I had an ear full of a conversation between two air
hostesses on Air Canada from London to Edmonton...I just enjoyed
hearing what they actually talk about to each ...

From the beginning of this year, with our move to Canada imminently looming nearer, Leonard and I sat with pen and paper in hand one Monday morning…day-off stuff you know…to ‘plan, sort out’ get this moving thing to Canada organized properly. We went through our list of what to sell, what to disconnect, who should collect which things when etc. etc. you know…all the stuff moves are made of.

Those long, dusty stretches. Those painful longings that can even make the heart sick. We’ve all felt those pangs of desperation at times as we ‘wait upon the Lord’ for things promised but as yet unfulfilled. It’s hard, it’s long and dry at times but is a part of life that can’t be avoided.
